Made in China
British physicist John Tyndall first demonstrated bending a light signal by guiding it through a stream of water. William Wheeler used this idea to invent the first light for the home, which used a system of highly reflective pipes guiding light from an electric arc lamp in the basement to reflect the light around the home. This was the origin of the modern optic fibre, which can be used to transfer information for the internet and television, as well as making pretty lights.
